Anti Aging Detail Lab Test
Anti-Aging Test

As the name suggests, an anti-aging test is a great way to check the ability of our skincare products to reduce or decelerate the signs of aging. As we age, our skin undergoes many changes that affect its health and appearance. One of the key factors in this process is the reduction in the number and activity of fibroblasts, the predominant cells in the skin's dermis layer. Fibroblasts are responsible for collagen & elastin production, two proteins that give skin elasticity and firmness. When the number and activity of fibroblasts decrease, the skin's regenerative abilities also decline, leading to visible signs of aging like wrinkles and sagging.
We test all our formulations on dermal fibroblast cell lines to check their anti-aging effect.
What Are Dermal Fibroblasts & Why We Use It?
No Preview
Dermal fibroblasts are the predominant cells present in the dermal extracellular matrix. They play an integral role in maintaining skin physiology and repair by producing collagen, elastin, and proteins like laminin & fibronectin. Dermal fibroblasts are an excellent tool for investigating the anti-aging effect of our products as they are less likely to replicate or differentiate in an in vivo (testing on a living organism) or in vitro (testing in a lab)environment.

Day 3
Tracking The mRNA Levels of Collagen & Elastin
pattern

mRNA, temporary copies of our DNA, convey information to the cells on what kind of proteins, enzymes, etc., they should produce. We track these mRNA expression levels using RT-PCR technology...

What's The Final Result?
For a product to be considered non-aging, the dermal fibroblast cell lines should reflect higher levels of mRNA expression for collagen and elastin than positive controls. At Areoveda, the tested products reveal similar results!
