Microbial Limiting Test

A Microbial Limit Test (MLT) helps us check the level of microbial contamination in our products during different steps of manufacturing. Our products contain natural preservatives that are intended to safeguard our formulations from such contamination.
We test all our formulations to check the contamination of common microorganisms that a product can be exposed to, including bacteria, fungi, yeast, mold, etc.

What Are Test Micro-organism's & Why We Use Them?

The common microorganisms our products are tested against include Candida albicans (yeast - a form of fungus), Aspergillus brasiliensis (filamentous mold - a form of fungus), Escherichia coli (bacterium), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (bacterium), and Staphylococcus aureus (bacterium). All these pathogenic micro-organisms represent a broad spectrum of manufacturing & household contaminants that a product can be exposed to, helping us to decode the level of microbial contamination in our products.

How We Test The Contamination Levels In Our Products?

Step 1

Total Aerobic Microbial Count Test (Bacterial Contamination)

1: We check the level of bacterial contamination in our products for the presence of different types of bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus.
2: We prepare our test product in a liquid form and spread it on an agar (a chemical that contains nutrients to support bacterial growth) plate.
3: Finally, we keep a check on their growth over time!

Step 2

Total Yeast & Mold Count Test (Fungal Contamination)

1: We check the level of fungal contamination in our products for the presence of different types of fungi, including - Candida albicans and Aspergillus brasiliensis.
2: We prepare our test product in a liquid form and spread it on an agar (a chemical that contains nutrients to support fungal growth) plate.
3: Finally, we keep a check on their growth over time!

What's The Final Result?

For a product to show antimicrobial properties, the testing plate should not show any bacterial/fungal growth (contamination). At Areoveda, the tested products reveal similar results!
